Abstract

The infrared radiation (IR) welding is one of the approaches to join the housing cap and filter paper in the fuel filters to become an alternative to traditional adhesive bonding which brings health and environmental concerns. This study investigates the sealing and bubble performance of filter samples including the same filter media but differing in joining methods. The results pointed the better performance for IR welded filter.
